WHAT IS BREATHWORK?

Breathwork is a way to heal, release, and transform by using continual, focused and intentional breath patterns with guided support.

It heals the nervous system by taking us out of fight, flight, freeze response and into rest and digest (from the sympathetic to the parasympathetic nervous system).

It can heal and repair the nervous system on a cellular level.

Breathwork is an incredible tool for moving unresolved trauma because it helps us to feel safe in our bodies. It allows us to listen to our bodies to process and to let go of that trauma.

WHY SHOULD I DO BREATHWORK?

  • Immediate stress reduction and anxiety relief.
  • Connect with your emotions and change your response to them.
  • Revitalize your organs.
  • Reduce toxins in your body and provide an energetic release.
  • Have more energy and mental clarity.
  • Deepen your relationship to your body.
  • Release trauma that has been stuck in your system for years.
  • Access your intuition, higher self, and source.
  • Reduce symptoms that can become chronic when your nervous system is dysregulated such as: chronic pain, chronic fatigue, digestive issues, hypervigilance (easily triggered, hypersensitivity), anxiety, panic attacks and/or depression.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I DO BREATHWORK?

Breathwork is completely safe to do every single day, or twice a day, however it is good to have an intention for each session.

There are absolutely no downsides to increasing the duration of your sessions or the number of sessions completed on a weekly basis.

HOW CAN I PREPARE FOR BREATHWORK?

Please come wearing loose, comfortable clothes. Have a blanket and layers nearby, and a journal and pen handy.

Have a spot set up where you can lie flat and be undisturbed. I would advise no heavy meals or large amounts of liquids beforehand.

For online sessions, I invite you to be intentional about preparing your space. Set it up in a way that you'll feel safe and peaceful.

In Person Transformational Breathwork Meditations at Instill Therapies in Winnipeg Canada

1:1 Breathwork Session (1 hour)

 

In our 1:1 session, we'll start with a conversation about your current feelings, needs, and intentions. After understanding where you're at, I'll instruct you on the specific breath pattern(s) we'll employ during the active breathing phase. As you immerse yourself in the relaxing ambiance set by music, I'll guide you through a meditation and body scan. This process helps you deeply connect with your body. As we transition to the active breathing session, which lasts approximately 25 minutes, I'll integrate Reiki to enhance the experience. We'll conclude our session with a time to discuss and reflect on the insights and feelings you've encountered.

Couples Session (1 hour)

 

In our Couples Session, both of you will begin by sharing your individual feelings, needs, and intentions. This conversation helps set the tone for the shared experience ahead. I'll then introduce the specific breath pattern(s) we'll be using. With the calming backdrop of music, I'll lead both of you through a meditation and body scan, ensuring you're both deeply connected with your own bodies. As we move into the active breathing phase, which lasts around 25 minutes, I'll weave in Reiki to further enrich your joint journey. We'll wrap up our session with a moment for both of you to discuss, share, and reflect on the transformative experience you've shared together.

Online Transformational Breathwork Meditations via Zoom

1:1 Breathwork Session (1 hour)

 

We open a 1:1 session by talking about your intentions, needs and what is coming up for you in general. Then I teach you the breath pattern(s) we'll be using for the active breathing portion of the session. Using relaxing music and my voice, I guide you through a meditation and body scan to help you to drop into your body. I then guide you through the active breathing, which lasts about 25 minutes. Lastly, we will have an opportunity to talk and reflect on your experience.

Community Breathwork Class (1 hour and 15 minutes)

 

Group sessions are guided in the same way as 1:1 sessions. Community classes are a truly magical way to connect with yourself on a deeper level while also connecting deeply with like-minded souls who are committed to the healing process.

Sessions are held in-person and/or online. In person sessions include Reiki and energy work as needed.

Welcome to my page! I'm Brenna (she/her), a certified trauma-informed breathwork facilitator, Reiki master, and certified in Bodytalk Fundamentals.

In 2002, I embarked on a healing and Spiritual journey driven by a profound calling to participate in traditional ceremonies. I was graciously invited by the Anishinaabe of Treaty 1 Territory to partake in Sundance and Sweat Lodge ceremonies, drumming circles, and women's healing and Moonlodge ceremonies. This community taught me invaluable lessons, sparking a lifelong journey of growth, evolution, deep listening, and reverence for all aspects of life. Through this experience, I gained a profound understanding of the power and significance of Ceremony.

In recent years, my studies and practices have expanded to include Reiki, Bodytalk, Energy Work, and an exploration of the nervous system's role in healing. I've also discovered the transformative potential of Breathwork, which effectively treats anxiety, chronic stress, and past traumas by repairing the nervous system. It is a powerful tool for relaxation and mental calmness as well.

As a multidisciplinary artist, I have utilized art and writing as a means of personal healing since childhood. Initially, I pursued a career in contemporary dance and choreography, having graduated from the Professional Program of The School of Contemporary Dancers in Winnipeg, Manitoba. With over 25 years of experience in yoga and dance, I've learned the profound influence of breath in both movement and stillness, fostering alignment with my body, energy, and collective group energy.

Drawing upon my diverse background, I integrate various modalities to provide clients with a comprehensive self-healing framework. Continually dedicated to my own embodiment journey and ongoing education, I completed the Align Energy Work Certification Level 1 in Sedona, Arizona, in November 2021. I am excited to collaborate and grow within the remarkable Breathwork community.
